Year 2004 will be our seventh season in this amazing area. During the previous seasons we have discovered many new dive sites.

Off the north east peninsular of North Sulawesi, Indonesia lies a chain of volcanic islands called the Sangihe Archipelago, an area comprising approximately forty volcanic islands covered in coconut plantations, some of which are over fifteen hundred metres high. The waters surrounding these islands are some of deepest in the world.

From her base at Kungkungan Bay in the Lembeh Strait, situated on the eastern side of Sulawesi’s north eastern peninsular, our sailing yacht CRESCENT will run cruises to the islands for 7days/8 nights.

Some of the highlights of the trips include underwater volcanoes, as well as an abundance of fish life including regular encounters with hammerhead sharks and occasional sightings of whales. The diversity and abundance of marine life around this area is incredible. There are steep slopes or walls with amazing corals and giant barrel sponges. Water visibility is excellent - average 35-50 metres. Real world-class diving! Above water the scenery is also breath-taking with many of the islands having steep volcanic peaks, one of which sporadically erupts. Most of the islands are completely covered in coconut palms.
